Engineering Division
Position Summary
Inspects public works construction projects to ensure compliance with plans and specifications and provides the public with safe and convenient roadways during various construction projects.
Essential Functions
- Arrange meetings as required between project designer and contractor to resolve differences of opinion about the plans and specifications.
- Ensure quantities submitted for payment are correct and on time for prompt payment to the contractor.
- Inspect construction projects for conformance to plans and specifications.
- Prepare daily reports that are concise, correct and in compliance with County standards and policies.
- Ensure projects are built without cost overruns and with the approval of the owner.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications
Essential
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- A valid New Jersey Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
Preferred
- Ability to critically review plans and filed conditions to ensure a minimum of adverse effects on existing and proposed County facilities.
- Completion of Safe Entry into Confined Space Procedures training.

Salary: $41,000-$54,500/year
