Construct, repair, and install building frameworks and structures made from wood and other materials.
- Follow blueprints and building plans to meet the needs of clients
- Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, frames, floorings, trim, or hardware, using carpenters' hand or power tools
- Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials
- Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes
- Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws
- Erect, level, and install building framework
- Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures
- Instruct and direct laborers and other construction helpers
Proficiency in the following:
- Insulating structures, installing drywall, cabinetry, and fixtures in homes.
- Using tools to cut and shape wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall. Including use of hand tools (squares, levels, and chisels, as well as many power tools, such as sanders, circular saws, and nail guns).
- Fastening materials together with nails, screws, staples, and adhesives, and check their work to ensure that it is precisely completed.

- Apply material to fill gaps in surfaces

- Mix substances or compounds needed for work activities'
