SPEECH THERAPIST – PER DIEM
Brandon Woods of Dartmouth is a 118-bed skilled nursing center. We have been family owned and operated, servicing the health care needs of seniors for nearly 50 years. We specialize in Short Term Care, Long Term Care, Rehabilitation and Sub-acute Care. Our facility also hosts Senior Transportation.
Job Summary:
- Responsible for administration and direct application of Speech/Language Pathology treatment modalities as prescribed by a referring physician.
- Evaluate, plan, direct and treat all patients referred to speech/language.
- Pathology treatments to restore function and prevent disability following disease or injury.
- Assists patients to obtain maximum performance and function in society while learning to live a routine "normal" life within the constraints of their disability.
- Participates in infection control, safety and educational programs, both in the department and on an organizational basis.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Master of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology in the State of Massachusetts. Ability to speak, read and write English.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of one-year clinical experience serving the same age/population mix as served by this facility.
- Knowledge of principles and practice of speech pathology.
- Performance of technical skills related to speech pathology.
- Knowledge of infection control, sterile technique and related impact on rehabilitative medicine practice and equipment.
