We are currently seeking a Spanish Teacher for the 2026-2027 at an independent school in Columbus, OH.
Lower School Spanish Teacher Responsibilities:
- Teach several Spanish courses for students in grades K-5.
- Design and implement Spanish curriculum for lower school students.
- Create opportunities for students to practice conversational Spanish and improve pronunciation and comprehension.
- Serve as an advisor students ensuring student success.
- Communicate with parents regarding student progress and behavior.
- Participate in regular professional development activities to stay current with best practices and innovation in language education.
Lower School Spanish Teacher Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Linguistics, Education, or related required. Master's degree preferred.
- Proven written and verbal proficiency in Spanish.
- Ability to teach Spanish courses at various proficiency levels from beginner to advanced.
- At least 3 years of previous teaching experience.
- No teaching license or credential is required.
- Strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills.
- Organized, dependable, and eager to contribute to the school community.
- Willingness to assist with extracurricular and school community activities.
Additional Desired Qualities:
- Knowledge of ACTFL standards preferred.
