Mil Mujeres Legal Services is a dedicated non-profit organization providing critical immigration legal services to survivors of violent crimes, focusing on gender-based violence within the low-income Latino community. We are committed to empowering individuals, ensuring safety, and delivering justice to those who need it most.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative and Clerical Duties
- Perform office tasks such as filing, typing, copying, binding, and scanning to support organizational needs.
- Handle mail distribution (physical and electronic) and coordinate information flow internally and with external partners.
Client Intake and Support
- Conduct client intake interviews in Spanish and English, manage appointments, and provide administrative support during client interactions.
- Serve as the primary contact for client inquiries, ensuring professional and empathetic communication in both languages.
Case Management and Communication
- Maintain clear communication with clients, employees, and external partners in both English and Spanish.
- Address client questions, complaints, and case-related issues promptly and professionally.
Community Engagement and Education
- Collaborate with local agencies, consulates, and organizations to deliver bilingual "Know Your Rights" presentations (English and Spanish).
- Represent Mil Mujeres at community events, fairs, and outreach initiatives.
- Conduct bilingual intake sessions and surveys at consulates, ensuring clear and effective communication with the community.
Required Qualifications
- Language Skills: Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is essential (oral and written).
- Education: Associate degree in Office Administration or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a similar administrative or client-facing role.
