Pay: We pay a flat rate of $60 per lesson taught. This includes prepping supplies, reviewing the lesson, and teaching the lesson.

Now Hiring: After-School STEM/Science Instructors and anyone who has experience with children and loves science!
We're looking for an enthusiastic instructors who have worked or volunteered with groups of children to lead a weekly hands-on science club for elementary students. This is a great part-time job for teachers, educators, tutors, camp counselors, childcare workers, STEM/education majors or anyone who experience with groups of children looking for flexible after-school hours. Additional club locations run throughout PA, NJ, and DE. Instructors interested in picking up more than one class per week are encouraged to let us know.
You'll join a growing team of instructors and a company that believes learning should feel like play.
What You'll Do
- Lead engaging, hands-on STEM experiments and activities for elementary-aged students (K-5)
- Create a fun, safe, and supportive classroom environment
- Follow provided lesson plans and manage classroom supplies
- Supervise student safety and well-being throughout each session
- Communicate clearly with students and parents
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience working with children in a teaching, tutoring, childcare, camp counselor, or coaching role (school or non-school setting accepted)
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Comfortable explaining STEM/science concepts in a simple, kid-friendly way
- Reliable transportation to the school location; able to transport lesson supplies
- Available in the afternoon during the school year.
- Able to arrive 20 - 30 minutes before class and stay through pickup/cleanup
- Background check/clearances required (or willingness to obtain)
- High school degree required
Training & Support:
Training is provided as part of the onboarding process and offered every year after that. Support is always just a phone call away! We want you to be succesfull and feel supported.
Schedule, please choose one or both schools
- Avon Grove Charter School Early Learning Center, 1769 New London Rd, Landenberg, PA 19350, Wednesdays starting 9/23, with the children in club from 3:30pm - 4:30pm. Please arrive by 3:00pm. Apply by 8/21 to complete onboarding before the start date.
- Avon Grove Intermediate School, 395 S Jennersville Rd, West Grove, PA 19390, Tuesdays starting 9/22, with the children in club from 3:45pm - 4:45pm. Please arrive by 3:15pm.
Class size: approx. 15 - 23 students
