Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Apprentice, where you will embark on an exciting journey to develop essential skills in HVAC systems, refrigeration, plumbing, and mechanical maintenance. This paid apprenticeship offers hands-on experience working alongside seasoned technicians to learn the fundamentals of HVAC installation, service, and repair. You will gain valuable knowledge in reading schematics, understanding HVAC design principles, and troubleshooting complex equipment. Responsibilities
- Assist experienced technicians with installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems, including air conditioning units and boilers.
- Learn to interpret schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design plans to support system setup and troubleshooting.
- Support service technicians in diagnosing issues using tools such as ohmmeters and other testing equipment.
- Participate in plumbing and refrigeration tasks, including refrigeration systems and HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/ Refrigeration) units.
- Conduct routine maintenance on heating and cooling equipment to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
- Aid in the repair of appliances and mechanical components related to property maintenance projects.
- Develop mechanical knowledge through field service activities such as welding, equipment repair, and servicing under supervision.
Requirements
- Strong interest or background in construction or mechanical trades with a desire to learn HVAC systems.
- Prior experience as a service technician or in property maintenance is a plus.
- Basic understanding of schematics, HVAC design concepts, plumbing, refrigeration, and mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with tools such as ohmmeters; experience with equipment repair or welding is advantageous.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; a <PERSON> driver certification is preferred.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive attitude toward learning new skills in field service environments.
