SUMMARY
This position is responsible for managing the bank’s troubled and defaulted loans and non-performing assets. This position has access to sensitive information and confidential data and is expected to exercise professionalism and confidentiality in all relevant matters. Work is performed within Bank policies and procedures and independent judgement, and complex decision-making is required to perform job duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Accountable for special assets of the Bank.
Manage and oversee the collection of delinquent and defaulted accounts.
Track and monitor accounts to minimize risk.
Complete Bank training requirements; comply with all Banking regulations, policies, and procedures; maintain proficient knowledge of the rules and regulations; complete administrative tasks accurately and on time; support the Bank’s goals and values.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintain educational and professional expertise through attendance at job related seminars, conferences and workshops. Represent the bank in a variety of community activities and functions.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or accounting; equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered.
Possess a minimum of 6 years of experience managing special assets or commercial banking relationships, and developing, structuring, underwriting, and negotiating complex credit transactions.
Must be a self-starter and have the ability to take ownership of high-profile relationships with minimal supervision while effectively communicating with senior management.
Proven experience in negotiating terms and conditions of approvals within assigned parameters, and preparation and presentation for approval through timely and accurately analyzed credit presentations.
Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standard situations.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret compliance policies, procedures, and disclosures. Ability to comprehend complex and varied documentation contained in a commercial loan file. Ability to interpret business plans, tax returns, and financial statements. Ability to interview customers to obtain detailed and accurate information. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to respond to requests from auditors and examiners. Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to listen effectively to the issues of clients and employees. Effective organizational and time management skills.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Ability to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to make decisions. Ability to make recommendations.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Must have the ability to operate the following equipment: telephone, computer, printer, copy machine, fax machine, and calculator. Must have working knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, and database software. Ability to effectively utilize computer technology. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs. Advanced PC knowledge.
KEY CONTACTS – Internal and External
Has frequent contact with business organizations, commercial brokers, accountants and attorneys regarding lending policies and practices.
Has frequent contact with clients regarding current business, new opportunities, lending policies and problems.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid driver’s license.
Maintain registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System as a mortgage loan originator in accordance with the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act (SAFE Act).
