Barista / Café Team Member
At Melby's Coffee & Tea House, we believe every drink should be crafted with care and every customer should leave with a great experience. We're looking for dependable, energetic team members who enjoy working in a fast-moving café and take pride in delivering quality service.
Previous coffee shop or food service experience is a plus, but we're also happy to train someone who is motivated, eager to learn, and has a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities
- Craft espresso beverages, matcha drinks, teas, boba, and other menu items according to recipes
- Prepare pastries and maintain product presentation throughout the day
- Deliver friendly, welcoming customer service with every interaction
- Keep the café clean, stocked, and organized before, during, and after busy periods
- Accurately operate the POS system and process customer orders
- Work efficiently while maintaining consistency and attention to detail
- Support teammates and contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment
We're Looking For Someone Who
- Has experience in a café, coffee shop, restaurant, or other fast-paced customer service setting (preferred)
- Learns quickly and enjoys staying productive throughout each shift
- Maintains a positive attitude, communicates well, and works respectfully with others
- Is dependable, punctual, and takes responsibility for their work
- Handles busy rushes with a sense of urgency while remaining calm and organized
- Has dependable attendance and communicates proactively if scheduling issues arise
- Recognizes that every team member relies on one another, especially during busy shifts
- Is looking for a long-term opportunity to grow rather than just a temporary job
