Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Truck Driver and take charge of delivering freight efficiently and safely across various routes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate a range of commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, while ensuring compliance with all safety and transportation regulations. As a vital link in our logistics chain, you will be responsible for transporting freight over the road (OTR), managing cargo handling, and maintaining excellent customer service during deliveries. Your expertise will help keep our operations running smoothly and our clients satisfied.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations.
- Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries across OTR driving routes.
- Load and unload freight manually or with equipment, ensuring proper handling of hazardous materials and dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations.
- Transport various types of freight such as refrigerated goods, automobile transportation, or logistics cargo handling, maintaining the integrity of the load throughout transit.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking for mechanical issues and ensuring compliance with DOT regulations.
- Manage documentation related to load & unload activities, delivery receipts, logs, and compliance records accurately.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams to coordinate route driving plans and address any delivery issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL license with appropriate endorsements for hazardous materials (Hazmat), tanker, flatbed, or refrigerated trailer as required.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving over long distances.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for truck loading/unloading.
- Ability to handle manual transmission trucks and perform manual handling tasks safely.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning for efficient OTR routes.
- Strong understanding of truck loading/unloading procedures for freight such as logistics cargo or dangerous goods.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; previous experience with automobile transportation is a plus.
