Regional Hospice is seeking a reliable and precise professional to help us properly maintain our Accounts Payable information, record cash transactions, post journal entries and maintain various spreadsheets. Excellent organizational skills and accuracy are important qualifications as well as good interpersonal relations and the ability to communicate clearly. The ideal candidate should have experience with vendor contracts, invoicing and coding, sourcing supplies, making bank payments and check payments. This individual will be expected to have the ability to multi-task, problem solve, work independently and successfully meet deadlines. Experience in Accounting/Bookkeeping 3+ years. Responsibilities and Duties:

Obtain Department Manager approval before entering invoices in system

Check invoice data for accuracy and conformity to related contract
- Charge expenses to accounts by analyzing invoices/credit card statements and recording entries

Pay vendors timely via check, ACH, or EFT with ensuring no sales tax, verifying federal id numbers, scheduling and preparing checks, resolving contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received when applicable

Record deposits & banking transactions in G/L while ensuring accurate monthly totals

Provide accurate records management for the AP function in electronic and hard copy versions

Maintain awareness of anticipated invoices and prepare monthly AP accrual as appropriate

Manage Petty Cash, obtain receipts, record in ledger and reconcile monthly.

Analyze Actual Expenses to Budget and provide detail on variances

Knowledge of general accounting principles, unclaimed property & 1099 processing

Assist with Accounting system conversion to QuickBooks

Proficiency in MS Office, including the ability to create and maintain Excel spreadsheets

High degree of accuracy and strict confidentiality

Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines

Have a strong work ethic and an ability to work alone and as a member of a team
- Ability to manage multiple projects at one time while paying strict attention to detail
- Associates Degree or higher

Accounting/Bookkeeping - minimum 3 years experience required
