American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a tertiary care hospital in Rochester, NY, requiring an active NY RN license and Epic experience.

Work in a 39-bed combined Acute Stroke and Med/Surg Telemetry unit at a 528-bed tertiary care hospital
-
Unit specializes in acute stroke patients, neurological disorders, and acute medical patients
-
Practices an adjustable acuity care delivery model focused on evidence-based stroke care
-
Patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7
-
Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00–07:00)
-
Every other weekend required
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Active NY RN license currently in hand — no exceptions
-
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
-
Minimum 1 year of RN experience required

Epic EMR experience required
-
Proficiency in cardiac monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias

Experience with IV therapy, peripheral line care/management, and phlebotomy
-
Experience with respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tanks, and non-invasive airway management
-
Familiarity with isolation precautions and use of Rapid Response/Code teams

Provide evidence-based nursing care to acute stroke, neurological, and general medical patients

Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; candidates within 75 miles are not eligible

Navy and white scrubs (any combination) required

2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Valid NIHSS certification must be submitted for consideration
-
All time-off requests must be submitted at time of initial consideration
