St. John the Baptist Elementary School is seeking a caring and dependable Teacher Aide (Paraeducator) to join our team. As part of our mission to educate the whole child, our paraeducators play an important role in supporting students academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.
Responsibilities
- Assist the classroom teacher with daily instruction and classroom activities.
- Provide support to individual students and small groups.
- Help reinforce academic concepts and classroom routines.
- Supervise students during lunch, recess, transitions, and other school activities.
- Prepare instructional materials and assist with classroom organization.
- Support students with varying learning needs and abilities.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and nurturing learning environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; associate degree or college coursework preferred.
- Experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, students, and families.
- Dependable, organized, and flexible.
- Commitment to supporting mission and values of the school.
Schedule
Full-Time: Monday–Thursday, 7:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m.; Friday, 7:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Part-Time: Monday–Thursday, 7:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.; Friday, 7:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
