About Mind Speak Inc.
Mind Speak Inc. is a private practice based in Queens, focused on psychotherapy for individuals living with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) alongside co-occurring mental health conditions. We hold that every client deserves personalized, evidence-based care, and we're expanding our clinical team to keep meeting that need.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a licensed clinician to come aboard as an independent contractor providing in-person therapy throughout Queens. It's a strong fit for a compassionate professional who already has experience—or a real desire to build expertise—supporting clients with autism spectrum disorders, developmental and intellectual disabilities, and related mental health concerns. Expect some travel within the borough.
Core Responsibilities
- Assessment & Intake — Carry out thorough clinical evaluations and design individualized treatment plans that reflect each client's diagnostic profile and communication style.
- Direct Therapy — Lead individual, couples, and family sessions using approaches adapted for clients with IDD and co-occurring conditions.
- Interdisciplinary Coordination — Work alongside behavior analysts, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and other providers to deliver unified, whole-person care.
- Caregiver Involvement — Bring families and caregivers into the treatment process in meaningful ways through education, coaching, and steady communication.
- Progress Tracking — Monitor client outcomes on an ongoing basis and refine treatment approaches to get the best therapeutic results.
- Recordkeeping — Keep accurate, on-time records in the EHR system, submitting progress notes within 24 hours of each session per Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance standards; prepare clinical reports and letters as needed.
- Community Advocacy — Promote client inclusion and build awareness of IDD-related mental health needs across the broader community.
- Ongoing Learning — Stay actively engaged with current research and developing best practices in IDD and mental health care.
