AP Specialist
Position Summary:
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for day-to-day financial transactions including accounts payable, corporate credit card reconciliations, and various other transactional issues. The Accounts Payable Specialist must exercise discretion in executing essential functions and be able to work independently, following through on assignments with minimal direction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):
Codes such items as invoices, vouchers, expense reports, check requests, etc.,
with correct codes conforming to standard procedures to ensure proper entry into
the financial system
Efficiently perform high volume data entry
Prepares check requests, wire transfers, and ACH transactions
Reconciles various accounts on a monthly basis, bringing any discrepancies to the
attention of the Controller
Files, maintains, and distributes accounting documents, records and reports
QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years of AP Experience
Bachelors Degree in a related field (Business, Accounting, Finance) considered an asset
Proficient in computer use including Word, Excel and other Microsoft products
Understanding of accounting principles and processes
Ability to multi-task
Good communication skills
Maintain confidentiality and use discretion where needed
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; kneel; talk; or hear, and hand grip. The employee may frequently lift, pull or push and /or move more than 50 pounds. Frequently use copier, scanner, fax machine, phone, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by the job include: closes vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less), distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors), peripheral vision (ability to observe and area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point), and ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring and object into sharp focus). Specific hearing levels within normal/average range.
WORK ENVIORNMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to inside cold or heat weather conditions; the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Pay Range: $26.00 – $31.00 per hour
