We are a dental office in search of a lead dental assistant to join our growing dental team located in Arroyo Grande! Our team is passionate about providing the best care possible for our community. Must have an active RDA license in the state of CA and have at least 2 years of experience as an RDA.

Job Type:
Part time job (with potential to develop into a full-time position as office hours increase)
Pay: Starts at $23.00 per hour based on experience
Job Type: Part-time (3 month probationary period)
Expected hours: Minimum 24 hours per week
Responsibilities
-Welcoming patients in the dental office
-Preparing patients for exams and treatments ensuring their comfort
-Select and set up appropriate instruments, equipment, and materials efficiently for exams and treatments
-Sterilize instruments according to OSHA regulations
-Maintain and manage stock and organization of the dental supplies & materials, operatories and sterilization area
-Assist hygienist with room breakdown, instrument and materials set-up
-Submit and follow-up on dental lab cases
-Perform efficient, four-handed dentistry to assist doctors
-Educate patients on necessity for recommended restorative treatment
-Maintain an organized operatory before, during, and after procedures
-Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, ensuring all necessary tools and materials are prepared and available
-Anticipate the needs of the doctor during procedures to ensure maximum efficiency and patient comfort
-Take dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed
-Manage patient records and medical documentation accurately, especially during procedures
-Provide patient education for hygiene and post-operative restorative treatment
-Utilize various office software such as Open Dental, Dental Intelligence, XDR, and Cliniview for patient management and documentation
Requirements
-RDA license (must have a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as an RDA)
-High school graduate or GED (required)
-Proficient computer skills REQUIRED
-Reliable mode of transportation REQUIRED
-Well-organized and reliable for the indicated work hours (T-Th from 7:50AM-4:50PM)
-Knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and dental procedures is essential.
-X-ray certificate
-Coronal polishing certificate
-Familiarity with dental software systems (Open Dental preferred)
-Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks
-Excellent communication and people skills
-Attention to detail
-Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding patient information
