Job Summary

Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations using advanced medical terminology and anatomy knowledge.
- Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and perform catheterization with strict adherence to aseptic technique and HIPAA regulations.
- Manage complex cases involving acute pain management, trauma medicine, infectious disease care, and critical care procedures such as ventilator management and airway management.
- Document all patient interactions accurately within EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or Athenahealth while ensuring compliance with medical documentation standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans for patients in settings such as ICU, PICU, neonatal units, or long-term care facilities.
- Provide patient education on health coaching topics including nutrition, medication adherence, discharge planning, and chronic disease management.
- Respond effectively to triage situations in urgent care or emergency room environments by prioritizing patient needs based on severity and acuity levels.
Qualifications
- Valid nursing license with current registration; additional certifications such as BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred.
- Proven experience working with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks; familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding is advantageous.
- Extensive clinical background in areas including critical care (ICU/Trauma Center), emergency medicine, hospital medicine, or post-acute care settings.
- Demonstrated proficiency in procedures such as suturing, phlebotomy, laboratory specimen collection/processing, ostomy care, and sterile processing techniques.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities, memory care residents, and hospice patients.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology principles, infection control practices, and HIPAA compliance standards.
- Ability to perform physical examinations effectively while maintaining aseptic technique; capable of working in high-pressure environments requiring acute response skills.
