Are you a skilled mechanic with welding experience and a passion for keeping equipment running safely and efficiently? The Dunn County Highway Department is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic/Welder to help maintain and repair highway equipment and vehicles.
In this role, you’ll diagnose and repair mechanical issues, perform preventative maintenance, and weld/fabricate equipment as needed. We’re looking for someone with strong troubleshooting skills, welding experience, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
Schedule: Four 10-hour days, Monday–Thursday, with occasional overtime/comp time as needed.

Duties of the job involve performing tasks in restricted, confined and difficult work spaces. The work is subject to burns, cuts and sharp objects; and is subject to injuries from moving parts on equipment.

Duties of the job involve exposure to fumes/exhaust, solvents or hazardous chemicals. The work occasionally involves working in and around high-speed traffic, inclement weather conditions, hot and cold temperatures, noise, dirt and dust.
