Overview:
We are looking for an attorney with a background in personal injury litigation to work out of our Clifton, NJ office. The candidate must be able to take and defend depositions, draft pleadings, discovery responses and motions, and attend Court appearances when necessary. The candidate must also negotiate settlements with adjusters/defense counsel and communicate with clients.
Must be self-motivated, willing to learn, and able to handle the fast pace of civil litigation.
Qualifications:
- 1+ years experience as a Plaintiff's personal injury or insurance defense attorney.
- Admitted to Practice in New Jersey (and New York a plus but not required.)
- Salary based on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research using tools such as Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients
- Represent clients in court proceedings and hearings
- Assist with case preparation and management
- Provide legal administrative support as needed
Experience:
The successful candidate should possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Strong background in legal research and writing
- Ability to litigate cases effectively
- Proficiency in drafting legal documents
- Familiarity with Westlaw, Lexis-Nexis, and other legal research tools
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
