About the job
Who We Are
The Joseph Group is a fully integrated real estate company — property management, construction and maintenance, brokerage, and investment strategy under one roof. We manage over 1,500 units across the Puget Sound and we're building the first rental intelligence company: data, technology, and a human-first approach aimed at changing the standard of property management in Washington.
Our motto is simple. It's not just a rental, it's a home.
Our Culture
We are not a family. We are a team of A-Players, and we're building a place where the best people do the best work of their lives. How you do one thing is how you do everything — so we don't cut corners on process, on people, or on our standard. We say the hard things kindly, we own outcomes instead of tasks, and we refuse to tolerate mediocrity in ourselves or each other.
We also build our own technology, and we're clear about what it's for: humans powered by AI, never AI replacing humans. We give our team back their hours so they can spend them on people.
The HELL YEAH
Most property management jobs hand you a portfolio and a phone and wish you luck. You become the leasing agent, the maintenance dispatcher, the collections department, and the contractor — all at once, all day, forever. Every hour goes to the machinery, and none of it goes to the people.
That's not this.
Here, the machine is already built. Maintenance Coordinators own the work orders. Our Leasing team owns applications and resident placement. Cedar One is our in-house construction and maintenance arm. The Joseph Group Real Estate is our in-house brokerage, so when an owner is ready to buy or sell, you don't lose the relationship — you deepen it. Field teams inspect your properties on a schedule you don't have to chase. And we build our own technology to absorb the rest.
We don't hand you those hours back so you can do more admin. We hand them back so you can be with people.
You get to actually be a Property Manager. Own the portfolio. Own the owner relationship. Own the outcome.
Who You Get To Work With
You'll report to Ian Joseph, CEO, and Andy Joseph, VP of Property Management, and join a bench of Property Managers who share standards, playbooks, and hard-won answers. Around you: Maintenance Coordinators, Leasing, Field, Cedar One technicians and estimators, in-house accounting, and a data team that builds the reporting so you're not living in spreadsheets.
What You'll Own
Your job runs in three lanes:
Owner Alignment — Build real trust with investors. Communicate clearly, protect NOI, and align on what they actually want from the asset.
Resident Experience — Consistent care and responsiveness that keeps good residents in place. A lease, a repair, and a renewal are real people, not tickets.
Team & System Leadership — Direct the coordinators and the process so execution is predictable across your entire portfolio.
Six things you'll love doing:
- Owning the performance of a real portfolio — renewals, downtime, collections, NOI
- Having the honest conversation with an owner before it becomes a problem
- Turning a resident who was ready to leave into a resident who renews
- Directing maintenance, leasing, and construction resources instead of doing all of it yourself
- Finding the leak in a process and fixing it for everyone, not just for you
- Spotting the owner who should be buying another property — and handing that to a brokerage that's on your own team
How You'll Be Measured
Your One Number is Retention Score — a rolling 90-day measure of the clients you keep, the clients you save, and how well you understand why anyone ever leaves. Alongside it, three weekly vitals: Lease Renewal Success %, average Downtime between residents, and Rent Collection %.
We tell you exactly what winning looks like. No mystery scorecards.
Who You Are
Let's be honest with each other early, because it saves us both time.
If you want a job where the bar is low, the days are identical, and nobody notices either way — we are the wrong company and you should stop reading. We are not for everyone. We are for the person who has spent their whole career being the most accountable one in the room and is tired of carrying a team that didn't want to be carried.
If that's you, keep reading. This is the part that matters.
- Extreme ownership. You don't point fingers. You drive results.
- High standards, low ego. You take pride in excellence, not status.
- Calm in chaos. Pressure sharpens you instead of scattering you.
- Clear. You communicate simply, early, and often — especially when the news is bad.
- Bias for action. You move with urgency, not recklessness.
- Coachable. You handle feedback like fuel, not fire.
- You know the difference between activity and outcome, and you've raised the standard everywhere you've worked.

How To Apply
We hire differently, and it takes a little more than a resume. Send all four to [email protected]:
- Your resume
- Your DISC profile
- Our questionnaire
- A 2–3 minute "I Am Awesome" video — this is not a summary of your resume. Tell us your superpowers. Tell us why you're an A-Player. Brag. Most people are too polite to sell themselves and it costs them the job — don't be most people. Phone camera is fine. We want to meet you, not watch a production.
