Los Lunas Community Program (LLCP) is part of the New Mexico Department of Health. LLCP provides residential, supported living, community support services, and employments supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The program operates an intermediate Care Facility (ICF) and community homes throughout Valencia County, ensuring individuals receive high-quality, person-centered care that promotes independence, safety, and inclusion.
Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two weeks of closing date.
Why does the job exist?
The purpose of this position is to act as the LLCP'S HVAC specialist. This position is responsible for installing, servicing, and repairing refrigerating systems and refrigeration equipment. This position is responsible for charging or recharging systems with refrigerant; ensuring to check for proper operation and leaks, and program control systems. This position will also be tasked with maintaining, diagnosing, and correcting problems throughout the entire system.
How does it get done?
General maintenance of all HVAC systems.
Performing repairs on units including replacing mechanical and electrical components and troubleshooting issues with units
Keep detailed records of installation of new units, repairs made, and service schedule for all units.
Installing new units, troubleshooting issues with current units

Los Lunas Community Program Staff, Department of Health Staff, Individuals Served by Los Lunas Community Program, Lessors for leased properties within LLCP and other External customers in the Community.

Minimum Qualification
High School Diploma or equivalent and six (6) months experience in heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration maintenance and/or installing and repairing refrigeration and heating systems. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) months may substitute for the required experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive a Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. Employment is conditional pending results of a criminal background check.
Working Conditions
Work is performed on LLCP Campus and requires an extensive amount of walking. At times work could be performed at the homes of the individuals served. Lifting up to fifty (50) pounds may be required. Position will be required to drive State Vehicles daily. Possessing and maintaining a valid NM Driver License is required. Exposure to individual's who can have challenging behaviors. Exposure to weather elements is to be expected. Some in-state travel is required
