Position Summary
Our Regional Sales Director drives profitable growth across the retail and wholesale flooring channel within an assigned region, focusing on hard surface products including vinyl, hardwood, laminate, and bamboo. This role leads Territory Sales Managers, strengthens strategic customer relationships, and executes regional sales initiatives to achieve revenue, margin, and distribution goals.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop Territory Sales Managers to exceed sales and profitability targets
- Establish performance expectations, KPIs, and accountability measures
- Conduct field visits, joint sales calls, and ongoing coaching to improve execution and product knowledge
- Foster a high-performance, customer-focused culture
Regional Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute regional sales strategies aligned with company objectives
- Drive product launches, promotions, merchandising, pricing, and inventory initiatives
- Identify growth opportunities and expand retail and distributor relationships
- Manage closeout and excess inventory programs
Customer & Partner Management
- Build and maintain relationships with key retailers, distributors, and wholesale partners
- Resolve escalated customer issues in collaboration with internal teams
- Partner with customers on long-term growth and category strategies
Performance & Market Analysis
- Monitor sales performance, market trends, and competitive activity
- Track and report KPIs related to revenue, margin, and distribution
- Present business updates and recommendations to leadership
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Product Management, and Customer Service teams
- Provide market insights to support product, pricing, and go-to-market strategies
Prerequisite Experience
Required
- 10+ years of outside sales experience, including 4–6+ years in sales leadership
- Experience in flooring, building materials, or wholesale distribution preferred
- Proven success driving revenue growth and leading high-performing teams
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to travel extensively (approximately 3 weeks/month)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

- Experience with retail-focused wholesale distribution models
- Strong understanding of merchandising, pricing, promotions, and inventory management
