JOB TITLE: Facilities Specialist, Grade 17
LOCATION: Facilities Department/Headquarters Library
DATE AVAILABLE: July 1st, 2026
SALARY: $2,305 per month (Includes generous benefits package)
HOURS: 40 hours per week
Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm (Note: Must be flexible to accommodate emergency situations that may arise.)
EDUCATION:
· Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school. General knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
· Must be able to lift 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 25 pounds of force frequently.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Cleaning and maintaining the headquarters library building and other branches occasionally.
· Maintains regular cleaning schedule ensuring that all interior areas of the library are clean and well maintained; cleans spills and spot cleans as needed throughout the day.
· Care and maintenance of live inside plants.
· Cleans the staff kitchen; cleans refrigerator, kitchen cabinets, and fixtures; removes recycling materials.
· Prepares public meeting rooms for events by moving tables and chairs; assists other departments with set ups for programming and special events.
· Goes to the post office daily; takes deposits to bank; runs other errands as needed, purchases items; refills auto gas tanks.
· Assists in Shipping and Receiving area; substitutes as needed.
· Assists with tracking and ordering cleaning supplies.
· Remains aware of safety and security issues and take appropriate action as needed.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school.
- General knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
- SCPL uses multi-factor authentication for network and program access. Employees may be required to use their personal device for MFA.
· Possession of an appropriate driver's license valid in the State of South Carolina; good 10 year driving record.
