Job Summary
The purpose of this position is to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operations of the Nursing Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
Responsibilities

- Responsible for planning, organizing and directing the Nursing Department’s functions and operations complying with all federal, state and local standards and regulations; monitors achievement of goals and objectives for the Nursing Department consistent with facility mission and standards of practice.
- Directs nursing and care plan team; establishes and monitors compliance with medical orders; acts as liaison between the physicians, health centers, residents and family members.
- Supervises staff; interviews, hires and trains new employees; develops staffing patterns, prepares schedules; plans, coordinates, assigns and reviews work; enforces policies and procedures; evaluates performance and makes recommendations concerning transfers, discharges and promotions; maintains communication and exchange of information between shifts; coaches and mentors staff to develop employee satisfaction; monitors attendance, approves leave time and payroll; assesses continuing education, competency/skills, and licensure of staff.
- Oversees departmental records, evaluates and ensures compliance with all nursing documents.
- Prepares and ensures adherence to an annual operating budget for the Nursing Department.
- Develops and implements administrative policies and procedures for facility to ensure compliance and consistent application of applicable, federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, regulations; initiates any actions necessary to correct deviations or violations.
- Assures compliance with resident rights policies and resolves resident grievances; resolves resident or family issues or concerns; monitors nursing care to ensure adherence.
- Reports and investigates all allegations of resident abuse and/or misappropriation of resident property.
- Establishes and maintains productive lines of communication with residents, families, internal staff and the external community.
- Attends and or facilitates meetings for resident care and safety, labor relations and employee communications.
- Actively participates in the quality improvement process.
- Prepares and submits various reports
- Acts in place of administrator in his/her absence.
- Responds to emergency situations, door alarms, and weather alerts.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or closely related field supplemented by a minimum of three years experience in the field, or any equivalent combination of education, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Requires RN License and valid driver’s license.
Pay: $97,492.63 - $124,788.86 per year
