American Traveler seeks a CVOR Surgical Technologist with cardiovascular and vascular surgery experience for a Magnet-designated, Level III Trauma teaching hospital.

Work in a CVOR suite consisting of 6 ORs total (4 standard ORs, 1 hybrid OR, and 1 PV room)

Cardiac case types include CABG (on/off pump), AVR, MVRR, TVRR, aortic aneurysm/dissection repair, total artificial heart, heart transplant, LVAD implantation, minimally invasive valve replacement, and trans-catheter mitral/aortic/tricuspid valve replacement

Vascular case types include endovascular and open procedures such as AAA repair, thoracic and thoracoabdominal aneurysm repair with fenestrated grafts, endarterectomy, peripheral bypass, amputation, and ECMO decannulation/repositioning

Preferred additional case exposure includes general, endo/laparoscopic, vascular, thoracic, bariatric, and transplant surgery

Day shift (6:45am-3:15pm) and evening shift (2:45pm-11:15pm) schedules available, with a 9:30am-6:00pm shift option

On-call requirements include up to 2 weekends per month and up to 2 weekdays per week, plus holiday call as needed

Uses Epic/Excellian charting system

Minimum of 1 year of CVOR experience required

BLS certification required
-
NBSTSA or NCCT national certification required

Experience with AAA repair, atrial septal defect repair, carotid endarterectomy, CABG, EVAR, femoral popliteal bypass graft, mitral valve replacement, pericardial window, TAVR, TEVAR, VAD, and ECMO required

Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I experience preferred

License required if applicable

Support cardiac and vascular surgical procedures including aseptic technique, instrument processing, specimen handling/labeling, sterilization/disinfection, and Universal Protocol time-out procedures

Work with case carts and crash carts as part of daily responsibilities

Facility provides scrubs specific to this position

First-time travelers are accepted for this role

Candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered, as local candidates are not accepted for this position

Returning staff must have a minimum 3-month break since their last shift worked as a perm employee (staff or per diem) to be eligible

Requested time off should be limited to no more than 5 days

Candidates may be required to float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
