Metro Schools College Prep is seeking a passionate and dedicated Physical Education and Health teacher for our middle school students. As a public charter school, we are committed to providing our diverse student population with a high-quality education that prepares them for college and beyond. The ideal candidate will be hard-working, flexible, and have a passion for teaching Health and PE to middle school students. Our school serves a diverse population, approximately 90% being English Language (EL) students, and 99% of our students receive free or reduced lunch. As such, we are looking for a teacher who is culturally responsive, holds high expectations for all students, and works hard to meet the unique needs of our students.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging PE and Health lessons for middle school students
- Create opportunities for students to experience a variety of sports and activities in PE
- Help teach students about healthy choices and lifestyles
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure student success
- Provide a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Health or related field
- Minnesota teaching license in Physical Education and/or Health (or ability to obtain)
- Experience working with diverse student populations
- Strong classroom management skills
- Commitment to academic excellence and college readiness for all students
