What You’ll Do:
Promote Safety.
Take an active role in prioritizing safety for yourself and others to ensure all assigned plants have zero accidents and comply with all Vulcan policies and procedures.
Manage Employee Relations.
Provide strong leadership, training, team building, and supervision to all operational employees within the area to support the operational function of the business. Guide all employee recruitment, training, development, and retention strategies.
Maintain Compliance.
Ensure all assigned plants comply with Vulcan’s safety and operations policies and procedures. Work closely with Company resources to ensure that all present and future permits and plans are current and compliant. Ensure that materials meet specifications and quality standards.
Develop Strategy.
Establish short and long-term business planning strategies and actions to drive results. Develop an annual operating budget that includes production planning and capital improvements. Work with sales, operations and quality control teams to improve revenue and market share.
Manage Process Improvement.
Direct process improvement with initiatives and objectives for assigned plants to meet productivity and efficiency goals. Establish and measure performance standards for technical support groups.
Ensure Economic Profit.
Manage the annual budget process for area. Ensure assigned plants meet or exceed budget goals and objectives, develop a capital budget for area, and achieve a return on capital investment process.
Coach and Guide Others.
Provide strong leadership skills by motivating and mentoring all employees. Set performance standards for employees and monitor performance.

Responsibilities Skills You’ll Need:
Experience.
5 years of experience in the industry (aggregates, ready-mix concrete) with a track record of progressive responsibility and successful operations management is preferred.
Leadership and Management Skills.
Must be able to provide strong leadership and guidance to employees, both direct and indirect reports, to motivate and maintain interpersonal relationships.
Operational Knowledge.
Must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of ready-mix concrete operations and equipment, OSHA regulations, engineering principles and procedures, and quality control systems and processes.
Interpersonal Skills.
Must be an excellent motivator and team builder. Must be able to form strong social relationships and effectively communicate with internal and external audiences.
Financial Knowledge.
Must know and have experience managing financial performance to established targets, meeting or exceeding performance goals.

Salary Range.
The base salary range for this role is between $130,000 - $180,000 annual salary. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider a number of factors, including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
