Berkeley Emergency Medical Group (BEMG) is a 100% physician-owned independent democratic EM group in the San Francisco Bay Area. We are seeking a BC/BE EM Physician candidate at Sutter Health Alta Bates Summit Medical Center's two emergency departments in Berkeley and Oakland.

- True independent democratic group (follows AAEM democratic practice model) with 98% of our full-time providers becoming shareholders after 18-24 months

- 8 hour shifts, 1240 hours/year for full time
- Each hospital annual approx. volume 40,000 patients per year
- Two hospital sites, each with unique patient population
- About 1.7 patients/hour supported by staffing model
- Highly competitive hourly compensation scheme (combination of fixed hourly rate + RVU + various shift stipends + end-of-year clinical & shareholder bonuses) = comes out to be approximately mid $200s/hr for non-shareholders and low $300s/hr for full shareholders (varies based on productivity)

- Great and friendly specialist coverage. Stroke, LVO, and STEMI center. No trauma. Low/minimal Peds volumes due to very close proximity of UCSF Children’s Hospital
