Niskayuna Glass in Schenectady is looking to fill several positions in our glass fabrication facility. The ideal candidate will have some mechanical and construction experience, will be able to work well with others, and will be reliable. Specific job responsibilities will vary by position, but the successful applicant will be responsible for the following:
-Operating various pieces of production equipment, including tempering furnace, seamer, and polisher
-Moving, sorting, and handling glass
-Loading trucks for daily delivery runs
-Maintaining a safe and clean work environment by handling materials and storing them properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in use, and cleaning up any waste or debris at the conclusion of the shift.
General job requirements include the following:
-Ability to lift 50 pounds for an extended period of time
-Ability to stand for extended periods of time
-Ability to follow all safety procedures
-Ability to work well with others
-Ability to follow verbal and written directions
-Ability to accurately use and read a tape measure
-Attention to detail
-Must have reliable transportation
Previous experience working with glass is a definite plus but is not required. We look forward to hearing from you!
