The Vacuum Truck (Vac Truck) Driver/Operator is responsible for the safe and compliant operation of CDL A or B vacuum trucks transporting and handling liquid and solid materials, including regulated and hazardous materials. This role requires a high level of safety awareness, regulatory compliance, and professional driving experience, particularly in tanker operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely operate CDL Class A or B vacuum trucks in compliance with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards
- Transport, load, unload, and dispose of liquid, sludge, solid, and hazardous/non-hazardous materials as assigned
- Operate vacuum, pumping, and hydraulic systems according to job requirements
- Perform hydro-excavation, industrial cleaning, and environmental service tasks when required
- Conduct and document pre-trip, post-trip, and daily vehicle inspections
- Maintain accurate driver logs, ELD entries, shipping papers, manifests, and compliance documentation
- Properly placard vehicles and verify shipping documentation for HazMat loads
- Use appropriate PPE and follow all safety procedures, including confined space and job hazard analyses
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, customers, and jobsite personnel
- Maintain cleanliness and safe condition of assigned equipment and work areas
- Respond to emergency, spill response, and on-call assignments as required
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational needs
Required Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A or B license, minimum of three (3) years of verifiable CDL Class A /B driving experience, preferably in a tanker/vac truck
- Tanker (N) endorsement and Hazardous Materials (H) endorsement (orX)
- Clean or acceptable MVR according to company and insurance requirements
- Ability to pass DOT physical, DOT drug and alcohol screening, background check, and ongoing compliance requirements
- Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations related to tanker and HazMat transportation
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous vacuum truck or hydro-excavation experience
- Industrial cleaning, environmental services, utilities, construction, or waste transportation background
- HAZWOPER (40-hour), OSHA 10/30, confined space, or spill response training/ability to obtain
- Experience with ELD systems and electronic job documentation
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to climb ladders, bend, stoop, kneel, and work in confined spaces
- Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and other weather conditions
- Tolerance for exposure to noise, dust, odors, fumes, and industrial environments
- Ability to sit for extended driving periods and stand/walk for extended jobsite periods
Work Schedule & Travel
- Full-time position
- Nights, weekends, overtime, travel, and on-call availability may be required based on operational demands
