JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB GOAL:
To inspect goods ordered by the District and to process the orders for timely payment and delivery to Manatee County schools.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
- Two years of experience in receiving practices and meet established personnel requirements.
- Possession of a valid Florida Commercial Driver's License (COL) Class B w/air brakes. Possession of a valid Forklift Operators License.
- A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to inspect and assess condition of incoming shipments for possible damage or shortages. Ability to evaluate shipments to confirm specifications and determine accuracy of fulfillment for a wide variety of materials, commodities, and supplies. Ability to maintain accurate records as to receipts and ship-outs. Ability to operate a variety of materials handling equipment in a safe and responsible manner.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Unloads and inspects incoming shipments.
- Operate various materials handling equipment to include pallet jacks (manual and electric), reach trucks, and heavy duty pallet trucks.
- Reports damaged/incorrect shipments to Inventory/Materials Specialist.
- Maintains receiving/purchase order files and logs.
- Coordinates with Finance Department to resolve problems with receipts and invoices.
- Attaches bar code labels and records asset tags for Property Records department.
- Enters receiving data and related information in computer.
- Assists with inventory cycle counts.
- Maintain cleanliness of receiving area and loading docks.
- Coordinate with warehouse drivers to insure timely delivery of goods.
- Organize deliveries to insure efficient and cost effective operations.
- Communicate effectively with staff members, administrators, and other contact persons utilizing courtesy and good judgment.
- Exhibit interpersonal skills to function as an effective team member.
- Maintain and model high ethical standards.
- Represent the District in a positive and professional manner.
- Respond to inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.
- Follow Federal and State laws and regulations as well as School Board policies, rules, and procedures.
- Demonstrate support for the School District and its goals and objectives.
- Assist with unloading and storing warehouse inventory.
- Assist with organizing and storing materials purchased by schools and departments.
- Perform related duties as required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently as needed to move objects.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the District.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
