Job Summary
We are seeking a "Jack of All Trades" who is punctual, dependable, and skilled Warehouse Worker Forklift Operator to work in a flooring and design business. This role involves operating a delivery van, forklift, managing materials, and ensuring efficient warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with warehouse distribution, order picking, and forklift operation, with a strong focus on safety and accuracy. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and mechanical knowledge are essential for success. Will also make local deliveries in the company van. Monday through Friday with Saturday hours as well. 8:30am-3:30pm.
Duties
- Operate forklifts, to load, unload, and move materials within the warehouse
- Perform order picking using RF scanners and warehouse management systems to fulfill shipping and receiving orders
- Load and unload trucks efficiently while adhering to safety protocols and OSHA standards
- Operate a delivery van for local deliveries
- Perform general maintenance within the showroom as needed
- Assist with materials handling tasks such as stacking, organizing, and inventory management
- Use of basic hand and measuring tools, cleaning, and other duties as assigned
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors on daily operations and ensure compliance with all safety regulations
Experience
- Prior experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or construction environments preferred
- Must have a clean NYS Driver's License and ability to drive a delivery van.
- Hands-on experience operating forklifts, and delivery van.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and order picking processes
- Experience with heavy lifting, load & unload procedures, and materials handling in fast-paced settings is highly desirable
- Previous warehouse supervisor experience or leadership roles will be considered an asset
This position requires a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and teamwork. Candidates should also have customer service experience when working on the showroom floor and be capable of performing physically demanding tasks while maintaining high attention to detail.
