JOB
Works under the direct supervision of the Solid Waste Enforcement Technician. Some training and direction will be provided by facility services staff, wastewater treatment plant staff, and solid waste staff. Must be able to follow instructions and work independently. Performs a variety of work primarily responsible for grounds maintenance at the Pacific Beach wastewater plant and outlying water systems, transportation and cleanup of illegally dumped solid waste, and general facility labor at the Montesano campus and Parks.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Responsible for the transportation of solid waste from dumpsites to the Central Transfer Station.

Working with facilities and solid waste staff on special projects at the County facilities.

Provide grounds maintenance to include mowing, weed eating, and brushing at multiple County owned properties.

General cleaning and pressure washing at County Facilities.

Assist with treatment plant maintenance such as painting, pressure washing, and general cleaning.

Operates a variety of equipment to include:

Pickups/Dump truck, Dump Trailer

Misc. Hand Tools
-
Implements incl. Weed trimmer, blowers, mowers, etc.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position typically requires: Climbing, Balancing, Stooping, kneeling, Crouching, Reaching, Standing, Mobility, Pushing, Pulling, Lifting, Manual Dexterity, Grasping, Feeling, Talking, Hearing, Seeing, Repetitive motion.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Duties are performed in outdoors in variable weather conditions. Potential hazards present from traffic and road equipment. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time in all types of weather. May lift solid waste and equipment in excess of 60 pounds; work alone and in remote areas, etc.
