Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assist in meal assembly according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, slicers, ovens, stoves, and food processors
- Follow food safety standards in handling, storage, and sanitation to maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Support menu planning by preparing daily specials or seasonal offerings in collaboration with the culinary team
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment through regular cleaning and sanitizing procedures
- Assist with food presentation and plating to ensure visually appealing dishes for service
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation, timing, and special requests
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is highly desirable
- Proven food preparation and cooking skills within a restaurant or food industry setting
- Strong knife skills with proper slicing techniques and familiarity with various kitchen tools and equipment
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production environments
- Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation processes
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams
