Job Summary
Our team at Jed's Tree Service is looking for a dependable, hardworking Grounds Crew / Machine Operator to join our tree service team. This position involves supporting tree removal, stump grinding and land clearing operations while safely operating heavy equipment and maintaining a clean, efficient work site.
Duties
- Operate heavy machinery such as bucket trucks and other landscaping equipment safely and efficiently to support tree care, and landscape projects.
- Perform tree trimming, stump grinding and removal with precision to promote healthy growth and safety
- Use rigging techniques to safely lower large branches or trees during removal or maintenance tasks
- Conduct general grounds keeping
- Maintain equipment such as chainsaws and other power tools, ensuring proper safety protocols are followed at all times
Qualifications
- Experience in tree service, landscaping, construction, or heavy equipment operation preferred.
- Ability to safely operate or willingness to learn heavy machinery.
- Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus.
- Ability to lift 50–100 pounds and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow directions.
- Safety-conscious with attention to detail.
- Experience operating skid steers, mini excavators, loaders, or forestry equipment.
- Knowledge of tree rigging, chainsaw safety, and wood chipper operation.
