OrthoLazer is seeking a Receptionist at our outpatient location. This position is a part-time role, working on a small team with laser technicians, led by a Center Director and under the direction of Orthopedic physicians.
OrthoLazer Orthopedic Laser Centers provide the highest-quality laser therapy program in the country to patients with orthopedic conditions as an alternative to surgery and pain medications. As the Receptionist, you are the first person the patient sees when they walk through our door and typically the last person as they leave. This first impression is critical as it is pivotal for patient comfort and retention. A successful Receptionist truly cares about our patient’s treatment outcomes and understands the impact healing has in their lives after they leave our center. Teamwork is always expected in the office. The Receptionist will need to be the most proficient employee on the scheduling and EMR system.
Essential responsibilities of a Receptionist include:
- Greet patients upon arrival and create a welcoming environment
- Successfully educate prospective patients on the science of laser technology, benefits of treatment and process requirements of beginning treatment
- Point of Contact for all incoming phone calls. You are the first person a patient will speak with to determine suitability of Laser treatment for their needs.
- Develop a rapport of caring with each patient and demonstrate an authentic desire for their successful healing
- Schedule patient appointments
- Checking out each patient after treatment
- Keeping the reception area and lobby tidy
- Ensuring patient documents are thorough and complete
- Accepting and running payments
- Responsible for checks and balances for each business day
Education, Skills and Training:
- At least 1 year in a customer facing role
- Experience in appointment scheduling and answering a multi-line phone system
- Minimum of associates degree (or similar) in medical field
- Prior medical experience with musculoskeletal conditions
- Basic knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology
- Self-motivator with the ability to identify and solve problems
- Proficient computer skills (web based EMR and scheduling system; Microsoft Suite programs)
- Adaptive to new technology and eager to self-learn

Communications and Personal Interactions:
- Have a strong patient service orientation and attitude of caring with all patients from diverse backgrounds and cultures
- Strong verbal communication skills and confidence in speaking directly with current patients, prospective patients, and medical providers

- Ability to positively influence patients by building confidence in laser therapy
- Excellent Customer Service skills
