Position Overview:
Kaluzny Bros., Inc (KBI) is seeking a Third Shift Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our team at our rendering plant in Rockdale, IL. A successful Maintenance Technician is a solution-focused self-starter that can troubleshoot on their feet and follow direction to effectively maintain industrial equipment at our plant.
Third Shift runs from 10 PM - 6:30 AM
KBI is a family-owned and operated rendering company comprised of two operations: a grease processing facility and a bone and fat processing plant. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the preventative maintenance and repair of all equipment and continuous improvement projects.
Job Responsibilities:
- Execute daily preventative maintenance of equipment
- Perform corrective maintenance and repairs as needed both independently and with team members
- Work safely on wet and slippery floors and equipment and in variable temperatures
- Work in a manual labor environment (including the need to frequently walk, stand, sit, shovel, climb, crouch, and kneel) during regular weather, hot summer temperatures, and cold winter conditions
- Handle hot working conditions (due to cooking process), strong animal odors, and a greasy/dirty working environment
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Follow the direction of the Maintenance Manager while staying highly organized and self-motivated
- Use effective problem-solving skills to minimize equipment downtime
- Exhibit a willing-to-learn attitude to effectively work with others and across an array of equipment
- Be adaptable to change and an effective communicator (both written and verbal)
- Follow all Company safety and compliance protocols and guidelines
- Adhere to the principles of honesty, integrity, and respect in every aspect of their role
Minimum/Required Qualifications:
- 1+ years’ experience in a mechanical maintenance
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs on an occasional basis, lift and reach overhead, and crouch and bend down to work on equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
- A high school diploma, GED, technical/trade school certificate, or similar
- Experience with computer-based applications for basic business functions such as email, Microsoft Word and Excel

Pay: $19.00 - $27.00 per hour
