Job Overview
Mierzwa Paving LLC is seeking experienced and dependable individuals to join our asphalt paving crews. We are hiring for crew members with experience either operating the screw (auger) on an asphalt paver or performing hand work and raking asphalt. Candidates with experience in both roles are strongly encouraged to apply.
This position is ideal for individuals who take pride in producing quality work, maintaining a safe job site, and working efficiently as part of a team on commercial and municipal paving projects.
Responsibilities
Screw Operator
- Operate and adjust the paver screw/auger to ensure proper material distribution.
- Work closely with the paver operator and screed personnel to maintain consistent paving operations.
- Monitor material flow and assist with maintaining paving quality.
- Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance of equipment.
Asphalt Raker
- Perform hand work and raking around structures, catch basins, curbs, and other areas inaccessible to equipment.
- Assist with maintaining proper grade and appearance of asphalt surfaces.
- Use hand tools and lute to ensure a quality finished product.
- Support crew members during paving operations and job site cleanup.
Qualifications
- Previous asphalt paving experience preferred.
- Experience operating a paver screw or performing asphalt hand work is highly desirable.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to safety.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- CDL is a plus but not required.
