Overview
Midwest Fencing Company is hiring a full-time Fence Installer (Team Member) to work directly with a foreman and crew completing residential and commercial fencing projects throughout the Kansas City metro. This is a physically demanding, hands-on position for someone who enjoys working with their hands, building things, and working outdoors in the field. Professionalism around clients, strong teamwork, and attention to detail are essential.
Meet Location: Grandview, MO (employees meet at the shop each morning before heading to job sites)
Pay & Benefits
- $21–$24/hour, based on experience and production levels
- PTO and paid holidays available after 30 days of employment
- Company shirts provided
- Required PPE provided (as needed), excluding work boots
Schedule Expectations
- Typical start time is 6:30–7:00 a.m. (varies by season)
- 10–12 hour shifts are common
- 5–6 days/week may be required depending on workload
- This is a seasonal/weather-impacted industry; weather may affect the schedule
Responsibilities
- Support the foreman and crew with daily fence installation tasks
- Carry and stage materials, tools, and equipment (heavy lifting required)
- Assist with layout, digging, post setting, concrete work, and installing panels/rails/pickets
- Assist with gate installation and jobsite cleanup
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional job site while working around clients and their property
- Follow direction, learn quickly, and contribute to efficient production
Requirements (Must Have)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass a background check
- Reliable transportation to meet at the Grandview shop each morning
- Works well with others, takes direction, and communicates respectfully
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
- Ability to work outdoors full-time in varying conditions (heat, cold, wind, mud)
- Physically capable of lifting/carrying heavy materials and performing labor throughout the day
Preferred (Not Required)
- Prior experience in construction, fencing, landscaping, concrete, or general labor
- Familiarity with basic hand/power tools and jobsite safety
