Accredited Preschool Seeks Part Time Three’s Teacher for the 2026-2027 School Year
Annandale Cooperative Preschool is offering the unique opportunity to teach three year olds in our NAEYC accredited, child centered program while maintaining work/life balance though part time hours. Join our experienced and degreed staff to teach three mornings a week during the 2026-2027 school year. Nurture children’s growth and development with the assistance of dedicated, involved parents in a cooperative setting.
Responsibilities
The Teacher position includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
● Planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum which meets standards set by NAEYC
● Providing guidance and direction for cooping parents, who act as the assistant teacher each day
● Maintaining regular communication with parents, including lesson plans and activities, regular classroom updates, and parent-teacher conferences
● Regularly assessing each child’s progress and using that information to guide planning
● Completing the 6 hour VA Preservice Training
● Completing a minimum of 16 hours of professional development activities during each school year, including, but not limited to certification in CPR/ First Aid and Medical Administration Training.
● Attending monthly staff meetings and participating in committees as requested.
Requirements:
● A Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education is preferred.
● Candidates who hold a Bachelor’s Degree in another field will also be considered for the position, provided that they have taken a minimum of 36 credits related to Early Childhood/Elementary Education.
● Prior teaching experience, preferably in a preschool or early elementary setting
● Excellent rapport with adults and children
