Prepare meals and snacks following established recipes and dietary guidelines
Assist with chopping ingredients, cooking, and portioning food
Ensure meals meet dietary requirements and facility standards
Serve meals to residents in dining rooms or resident rooms
Ensure proper food presentation, temperature, and portion control
Follow dietary orders and restrictions accurately for each resident
Follow specialized diets including diabetic, low-sodium, pureed, mechanical soft, and allergy-restricted diets
Ensure accuracy and safety in all meal preparation and service
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas
Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
Sanitize surfaces and follow infection control procedures
Store food properly and follow safety regulations
Monitor food and supply inventory levels
Notify supervisor when items need restocking
Assist with proper storage and rotation of food supplies
Collaborate with nurses, dietitians, and dietary staff
Ensure residents receive proper nutrition according to care plans
Communicate resident needs or concerns promptly
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous kitchen, dietary, or healthcare experience preferred but not required
Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Compassionate, patient, and resident-focused attitude
Ability to lift, carry, and stand for extended periods
