Responsibilities/Job Description:
This position is responsible for preparing food items as assigned using standardized recipes to meet established standards of high quality.
This position main responsability is working in patients at the Dinner Cook. They provide food for patients following the IDDSI standards for food preperation. This shift also closes down the kitchen for the day and includes multip cleaning tasks.
Location: Fairview East Bank University Hospital, located in Minneapolis
Hours: 80 hours biweekly
Schedule: day/evening shift 11:30pm-8:00pm
Week 1:
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Week 2:
Tuesday, Wendesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Schedule may change based on the needs of the operation.
Responsibilities

Food Preparation
-
Prepares food products to meet temperature and quality standards.

Follows standardized recipes weighing and measuring ingredients to assure products are consistent in quality and nutritional value.

Uses correct portioning utensils.

Assemble food within appropriate time frames.

Prepares bakery items per standardized recipes.

Develops and tests recipes as directed.

Completes all documentation related to production

Handle and prepare food in safe manner following HACCP standardized operating procedures

Takes and documents temperatures of food items and makes appropriate adjustments to achieve standards.

Holds food at appropriate temperatures and within established time limits.

Follows established hand-washing procedures.

Follows department dress and personal hygiene codes.

Follows employee health guidelines to prevent disease transmission.

Follows HACCP standards operating procedure for food storage, product rotation and thawing.

Stores and labels food and supplies following HACCP guidelines.

Follows procedures to prevent food contamination.

Coordinates and communicates with all internal customers in all service areas.

Sanitizes equipment and work area per assigned schedules and designated procedure.

Daily sweeps and mops floor as spills occur using approved methods and cleaning agents.

Maintains a “clean as you go” attitude demonstrated by a clean work area.

Cleans and sanitizes equipment after each use or per department cleaning Schedule.

Uses appropriate equipment and chemicals according to manufacturer’s recommendations.

Understands and uses appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) according to manufacturer’s recommendations.

Gathers soiled laundry and place in assigned area for pick up.

Maintains separate clean and dirty areas in work area.

Properly disposes of food waste and trash.
Required Qualifications

One to three years experience
Preferred Qualifications

High School Diploma or
-
GED
-
Certified or willing to become certified for food safety.
Qualifications:
$21.96- $28.75 Hourly
