WATER & SEWER CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT (Competitive Pay, DOE)
Pioneer Construction is seeking an experienced Water & Sewer Construction Superintendent to lead underground utility projects throughout Northeast Pennsylvania.
We are looking for an experienced field leader with 10+ years of experience supervising water and sewer mainline construction, with a strong background in ductile iron pipe installation, underground structures, and complex utility construction.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Superintendent will oversee day-to-day field operations and provide leadership to crews, foremen, subcontractors, and equipment operators while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with plans and specifications.
Responsibilities include:
- Directing and supervising water and sewer mainline construction operations
- Leading the installation of ductile iron water and sewer pipe
- Supervising pipe crews and coordinating multiple field operations
- Overseeing construction of manholes, vaults, wet wells, and other underground structures
- Managing excavation, trenching, pipe bedding, backfill, and restoration operations
- Coordinating manpower, equipment, materials, and daily production
- Reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and contract requirements
- Coordinating with Project Managers, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and owners
- Monitoring project schedules, production, and jobsite progress
- Identifying and resolving field issues while maintaining productivity and schedule
- Ensuring work meets project specifications and Pioneer Construction's quality standards
- Promoting and enforcing a strong jobsite safety culture
- Communicating daily project needs, progress, and challenges to project management

QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of experience supervising water and sewer mainline construction
- Extensive experience with ductile iron pipe installation
- Strong understanding of water and sewer mainline construction methods and practices
- Demonstrated experience supervising the construction of manholes, vaults, wet wells, and other structures
- Experience managing multiple crews and field operations
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and utility layouts
- Strong knowledge of excavation, trenching, pipe installation, testing, backfill, and restoration
- Experience with HDPE and pipe fusion, gravity & force main is a plus
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to safety, quality, productivity, and schedule
- Valid driver's license
