Position Summary
Restaurant Managers are hands on with the day-to-day restaurant operations, as well as active coaches to our talented hospitality team. This role engages with weekly business strategies and daily shift preparations, including shared administrative responsibilities to ensure the highest quality experience for both our guests and team alike. As Manager, you will work with the team to write department schedules, place orders & manage inventories, and curate a positive & professional culture. Pelato Restaurant Managers will work with a tight-knit team in a family-owned & fast paced environment, where input and ideas are appreciated and celebrated!
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years-experience in high volume casual dining
- Stellar verbal & written communication skills
- Strong digital & computer skills to manage our suite of software platforms
- Passion for leadership & detail driven success
- Sincere hospitality instincts
- Quick-witted problem-solving skills
- Multi-tasking abilities in high volume situations
- Available and flexible schedules including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Understanding of Health Department standards and safe & clean workplace environments
- Ability to perform physical requirements of position including standing and walking for extended periods of time, bending, pulling, pushing, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations including but not limited to restaurant opening & closing duties
- Support all FOH staff throughout service
- Participate and lead in regular coaching, training, counseling, and guidance of hourly team members
- Assist in service recovery efforts as needed with empathetic & guest-first mentality
- Ensure daily cleaning tasks are completed to meet restaurant standards
- Interviewing, hiring, and separations for hourly staff
- Writing weekly department schedules
- Placing regular orders for products, including operational supplies, bar items, linens, etc
- Conducting routine inventories for all critical product and contributing to cost management within budget
- Responsible for daily cash handling practices, including daily safe counts, pay-outs, and accurate cash deposits
- Actively participate in the planning and execution of private events & VIP hospitality engagement
- Lead regular pre-shift meetings to review daily details, service goals, sales initiatives, and establish the tone for every service
- Other duties, initiatives, and tasks as per business need
