Responsibilities
- Lead guided tours across scenic, Yellowstone, and Grand Teton areas, sharing knowledge about local geology, wildlife, history, and cultural significance.
- Ensure the safety of all tour participants by adhering to wilderness safety protocols and conducting thorough risk assessments before each excursion.
- Manage tour group logistics, including scheduling, guest check-ins, and coordinating transportation or equipment as needed.
- Build rapport with guests through engaging storytelling techniques, public speaking, and personalized attention to enhance their experience.
- Communicate effectively or serve bilingual audiences to accommodate diverse groups.
- Demonstrate leadership by guiding groups confidently while maintaining clear communication and managing time efficiently.
- Respond promptly to guest inquiries, resolve concerns professionally, and foster a positive atmosphere that encourages learning and adventure.
Skills
- Proficiency to connect with domestic and international guests and enhance their experience.
- Strong leadership qualities with experience in tour guiding or outdoor education.
- Excellent public speaking and presentation skills to captivate audiences of all ages.
- Proven ability in tour group management, including crowd control and guest engagement strategies.
- Knowledge of wilderness safety practices, First Aid, CPR certification, and emergency response procedures.
- Exceptional communication skills for storytelling, teaching complex concepts simply, and building guest rapport.
- Experience in outdoor work environments with a focus on safety, environmental stewardship, and customer service excellence.
- Time management skills to coordinate multiple tours efficiently while maintaining high-quality guest interactions.
