Responsibilities
- Efficiently wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment following proper food safety sanitizing procedures
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed, including cleaning vegetables or organizing supplies
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables and transporting used dishware to the dishwashing station
- Operate commercial dishwashing machines and other kitchen equipment safely and effectively
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas by adhering to sanitation standards and health regulations
- Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting of large pots or crates of supplies with proper technique to prevent injury
- Follow all kitchen health and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues
Experience
- Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Familiarity with food handling and sanitation practices is advantageous
- Basic knife skills and understanding of kitchen safety protocols are a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Knowledge of food safety management principles is beneficial but not mandatory; training will be provided
- Previous banquet or catering experience can be an asset but is not essential
