American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring 1 year of experience and an active IL RN license.

Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital setting
-
Patient ratio of 1:6
-
Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 18:45-7:15)
-
Required to work every other weekend
-
Floating required
-
Epic charting system used
-
Active IL RN license in hand
-
Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
-
Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required

Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response
-
Experience interpreting dysrhythmias required, with management of dysrhythmias preferred
-
Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams

Skilled in respiratory care including nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care/management
-
Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
-
Epic charting experience preferred

Provide comprehensive medical-surgical nursing care including respiratory support and IV therapy

Maximum RTO of 7 days, with no RTO permitted during the first or last week of the contract

Former staff of University of Chicago Medicine locations (including Ingalls) must have been separated for at least 7 months to return as a traveler
