Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Medical Assistant and Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily clinical activities, ensuring adherence to healthcare protocols and safety standards.
- Perform phlebotomy procedures with precision, collecting blood samples for laboratory testing in accordance with best practices.
- Assist with patient intake, including recording vital signs, updating medical histories, and verifying insurance information.
- Support physicians and healthcare providers by preparing examination rooms, managing electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), and documenting patient encounters accurately.
- Administer medications and injections following prescribed protocols while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, ICD coding, and emergency procedures such as Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Lead efforts in clinic management by training staff on EMR/EHR systems, scheduling appointments, managing inventory of medical supplies, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Provide specialized support in areas such as dermatology procedures, hospital medicine settings—including Level I and Level II trauma centers—and outpatient clinics.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams across inpatient and outpatient settings to deliver seamless patient care.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist in diverse clinical environments such as hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with prior supervisory or team coordination experience in a healthcare setting.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as X-ray operation or EMR/EHR management are highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, ICD coding, and medication administration protocols.
- Experience working with electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), including intake documentation and vital signs recording.
- Ability to perform phlebotomy accurately while maintaining patient comfort; familiarity with laboratory specimen handling is essential.
- Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatric patients.
- Inpatient experience at Level I or Level II trauma centers is preferred; clinic experience in dermatology or internal medicine is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in documentation and clinical procedures.

Pay: $23.75 - $28.60 per hour
