Full description:
Brooks & Landry Fine Catering is a full-service catering company based in Allen Park, serving Metro Detroit and Southeast Michigan since 2021. Our work spans high-end full-service events, corporate catering, production catering for commercial shoots, films, and concerts, and a school meal program serving 450 meals daily.
Position summary: The Sous Chef / Driver serves as second in the kitchen, reporting to the Executive Sous Chef. Weekday mornings are dedicated to school meal production — bulk cooking, packing, and delivery to 2–4 locations — alongside production breakfast service. Beyond the morning program, this position contributes to preparation and cooking for the full range of our operations, including film and commercial productions, concerts, and full-service events, and serves as backup to our catering sous chef.
Scheduling: We are a seven-day catering operation, and every member of our team works across all of our programs. This position carries the most consistent schedule in the company — a weekday morning anchor — but candidates should expect to be scheduled at other times, including some evenings and weekends, as the calendar requires. This role offers guaranteed full-time hours year-round; our school program and event calendar are counter-seasonal, so work remains steady in every season.
Schedule: Primary schedule is Monday–Friday early mornings, with start times typically between 3:00 and 8:00 AM depending on the day's production, typically concluding by early afternoon. Additional event and production shifts are scheduled as the business requires, including some evenings and weekends as needed.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of professional cooking experience, with the ability to run a production line independently
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record; candidates must be insurable on our commercial vehicle policy. A motor vehicle record (MVR) check is required before any offer.
- Availability for weekday morning shifts beginning as early as 3:00 AM, with flexibility for additional shifts
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and remain on your feet for a full shift
- Deliveries are made in all weather conditions
- ServSafe certification is a plus, not required
Anticipated start date: late August / early September 2026.
