About the Role
Colton’s is seeking a driven, team-oriented Hourly Shift Manager to join our leadership team. This role is essential in supporting the General Manager and management team in day-to-day operations across both the dining room and kitchen. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment and is passionate about hospitality, staff development, and operational excellence.
What You'll Do
As a Shift Manager, you’ll wear many hats—balancing floor presence, kitchen coordination, and back-office tasks. You’ll take the lead on shift execution while helping train, coach, and support staff to deliver a seamless guest experience. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting and overseeing both FOH and BOH shift operations
- Interviewing, onboarding, and training new team members
- Coaching staff in real time to reinforce performance and service standards
- Maintaining compliance with operational policies, procedures, and safety protocols
- Managing guest interactions, including resolving complaints with professionalism and care
- Collaborating with managers on staffing, shift flow, productivity, and cost controls
- Contributing to revenue goals, team morale, and operational improvements
- Leading by example to maintain a positive, productive team environment
Qualifications
- Minimum age: 21
- High school diploma required; college coursework or degree preferred
- 2+ years of leadership experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant
- ServSafe certification and Sexual Harassment training required (or willingness to obtain)
Key Skills
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to problem-solve and make quick decisions under pressure
- Solid knowledge of restaurant operations, from guest service to kitchen flow
- Basic business and math skills; confident using POS systems and basic tech platforms
Schedule & Compensation
- $23–$26/hour
- Minimum 35 hours/week with flexibility on nights and weekends
